In times of crisis, we foster a safe space for de-escalation, orientation to coping skills, and reinforce alternative ways to express needs with the intention to interrupt the downward spiral that often leads to unsafe behaviors without intervention. Crisis intervention can assist our residents in returning to baseline and to their level of pre-crisis functioning.
